Tirol Shop und Universität Innsbruck entwickeln nachhaltige Produktlinie

Tirol Shop and University of Innsbruck develop sustainable product line

For the first time, the Tirol Shop and the University of Innsbruck are presenting a joint product line under the title “Be a part of us”. A key focus is on sustainability: only pre-ordered items are actually produced.

With the "Be a part of us" collection, the Tirol Shop and the University of Innsbruck are breaking new ground: In order to avoid overproduction and encourage conscious purchasing decisions, only pre-ordered items are actually produced. In addition, parts of the collection, such as a roll-top backpack, are made from recycled ocean plastic. Other pieces range from classic hoodies to drinking bottles and T-shirts made from organic cotton.

From 15 November to 15 December there will be a pop-up store in the Ágnes Heller
House of the University of Innsbruck open for fitting.

Alpine lifestyle meets science

"With the 'Be a part of us' collection, we want to make visible the special connection that people have with Tyrol, regardless of whether they study here or live here permanently. In cooperation with the University of Innsbruck, we place particular emphasis on the responsible use of resources during production, as anchored in our 'Tiroler Weg' tourism strategy," explains Karin Seiler, Managing Director of Tirol Werbung.

The brand cooperation is also valuable from the University of Innsbruck's point of view: "The new product line links the world of science with the alpine lifestyle in the region. This creates a unique label with international appeal, entirely in the interests of the university and its members," explains Veronika Sexl, Rector of the University of Innsbruck.

Delivery of the ordered items is expected to take place between the end of April and the beginning of May 2025. Customers can have the products sent to their home or purchase them as part of the “Be a part of us” party in the Tirol Shop in the Maria-Theresien-
Street 55.
